Cicci Food & Wine-Lighting Design (Hospitality)

Project Overview

Cicci Food & Wine is an intimate neighbourhood wine bar where the lighting carries the mood and supports fast service. As Lighting Designer (Beacon Design Studio), I created a layered scheme that blends ambience and function: a mixed-shade pendant rail establishes a warm focal rhythm over the bar, small-aperture downlights provide gentle fill without glare, under-shelf LEDs lift the back-bar for bottle and glass legibility, toe-kick strips wash the fluted counter for night ambience, and compact spots sharpen the kitchen pass. Simple scene presets (pre-service / service / late) keep a consistent 2700–3000K warmth and high CRI while balancing atmosphere with task needs.

Legend & Key Elements

This project incorporates a layered set of hospitality fixtures to create a warm, intimate wine-bar atmosphere:

  • Mixed-Shade Pendant Rail – Statement feature over the bar providing sparkle, visual rhythm and wayfinding; fully dimmable.

  • Small-Aperture Adjustable Downlights – Energy-efficient ambient fill (high CRI) aimed to reduce glare on seated guests and glassware.

  • Under-Shelf LED Strip Lighting – Task illumination for the back-bar, improving bottle/glass legibility without hotspots.

  • Toe-Kick LED Strip – Continuous wash to the fluted bar front for subtle ambience and night-mode wayfinding.

  • Compact Track Spotlights – Targeted brightness to the kitchen pass/plating zone for service efficiency.

  • Lighting Controls & Scenes – Simple presets (pre-service / service / late night) for smooth dimming and a consistent warm palette.

Each fixture was selected for design compatibility, energy efficiency, warm colour (2700–3000K), high CRI, glare control and long-term maintainability.
